Perrot-Minot, Chambertin Grand Cru 2010

more about ratings

This is restrained and brooding to the point where it is essentially mute as even aggressive swirling coaxes almost nothing except the impression that the underlying fruit is ripe. This is one big bodied, concentrated and ultra-serious effort with a cool minerality characterizing the powerful and velvet textured flavors that culminate in a sappy, austere and mineral inflected finish that displays plenty of the hallmark austerity of a very young Chambertin. Despite the almost extreme reserve, the  underlying material is present that should allow this to develop beautifully over the next 15 years or so.
