Tasting the Roagna Barbaresco Paje 2004: typical wonderful Barbaresco.

by Eugene Bergen
Tasting the 2004 Paje from Roagna 3rd of March. After a first impression, right after popping the cork, of rather heavy and somewhat aged wine, we let the wine breath for an hour, as we should have, and a beautiful dry red Barbaresco emerged. I love this wine. Typical light red with some brown coloring at the edges, revealing some age. AT its very best, fully mature, fresh, dry red wine, very typical Italian Barbaresco cassis, blackberries, rich and never overbearing, beautiful harmony. Aftertaste of 1 minute. Truly lovely: 93 points
