From barrel, the 2012 Clos de Vougeot Cuvee Vieilles Vignes has one of my favourite bouquets with wonderful vibrancy, mineralite and tension. The palate has a beguiling sense of symmetry and tension, blessed with precocious, beautifully aligned mineral-rich black and red fruit towards the finish. One of the best Clos de Vougeot this year.
